Meet Robin Richards
Co-Host of Motherhood and the Messy Middle
Robin Richards is a passionate educator and wellness coach, creating safe spaces both in person and online to help women create calm in the chaos of midlife, motherhood and everything in between.
After navigating her own journey through debilitating mental and physical health challenges, Robin found her way back to wellness through a blend of science and soul. That experience became the foundation of her work today—supporting women in ditching diet culture, reclaiming their energy, and designing personalized wellness paths that actually work in real life.
With advanced degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and K–12 Leadership, Robin spent nearly two decades as a public school teacher, consultant, and board member before founding her business, Robin’s WellNest, where she teaches holistic weight loss and wellness practices for women in perimenopause and beyond. She’s certified in nutrition coaching, hormone health, meditation, mindful eating, yoga, EFT, NLP, and Pilates, as well as being a licensed teacher and Karuna Reiki® Master Teacher, bringing a whole-body, heart-centered approach to every workshop, retreat, and coaching program she leads.
Robin’s work focuses on what she calls inner fitness—strengthening the mind, body, and spirit through energy alignment, mindful nourishment, and practical, research-backed wellness strategies. Her resources include the Balance Your Body Course, the Meditation Momentum 21-day journey for busy minds, and the Women’s Wellness Collective—a membership coming in September 2025 for women ready to ditch diets and hustle in favor of holistic weight loss & wellness that honors their lives and changing bodies
She lives in the Twin Cities with her husband and their 10-year-old daughter, who keeps her grounded, laughing, and committed to living with intention. Whether she’s guiding a retreat, recording a podcast episode, or coaching women in holistic weight loss & wellness, Robin shows up with deep care, honest conversation, and a steady belief in the power of women to restore the heart and healing our world so deeply needs.

Meet Nicole Coates
Co-Host of Motherhood and the Messy Middle
Some seasons of motherhood don’t come with clear instructions.
The house gets quieter, but your mind doesn’t.
You’re parenting from a distance, praying through the unknown, and wondering if the connection you once had can ever return.
That’s where Nicole Coates shows up-helping you find purpose in the most painful parts of motherhood.
A certified coach, speaker, author, and mental-health advocate, Nicole walks with moms of teens and adult children through crisis, distance, and identity shifts. Her signature resources—like The Shameless Audacity of a Praying Mom, viral “Say This Instead” reels, and prayer-soaked coaching—offer poetic depth and practical hope to women who feel unseen in the middle of the story.
Drawing from her own journey through stepparent adoption, special-needs parenting, relational rupture, and traumatic seasons, Nicole teaches moms to trade control for compassion and shame for steady faith. She blends honest conversation with soul-level truth, reminding mothers they don’t have to fix everything to be a safe place for their kids.
Nicole lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband and four kids (ages 11–21), where kitchen dance parties, tearful prayers, and reheated coffee collide daily. Whether she’s speaking on stage, hosting a virtual prayer circle, or recording from her closet studio, Nicole brings grounded wisdom, gentle humor, and an unshakable belief that God is in the messy middle too.
